Just wanted to do a quick update and upload some photos and videos from this summer. Of course, summer in Calgary can hardly compare weather wise to a Houston summer. It has been a fairly cool summer compared to other years, but we've had a few days of 30 degrees Celsius (which can be a bit harsh at night since we don't have AC). I guess we can't complain that we are melting here (like we would be if in Houston).
This summer we've enjoyed bike riding, playing in Jakob's little blowup pool, a visit from Rex and Betty from Oz, and even a camping trip at Thunder Lake with the Dalal's!
When Rex and Betty came to visit, we did an impromptu helicopter ride as we were going to Drumheller for the day. Jakob was sort of "in shock" that he was actually inside one and going up in the air. There is a video below of the ride. I could not really say anything on the video as we all had headsets on and I didn't want to distract the pilot.
As you can see from the other video, Jakob and mom play "my blanket" A LOT when we are driving long distances in the car. I originally started this game with my niece about 8 years ago when she was Jakob's age. The funny thing is he does not want anyone else to play that game except for me and him.
Jakob really enjoyed camping and sleeping in the tent. He keeps saying, "more camping." Thank you, Dalal's, for inviting us to camp with you and your friends on your annual trip!
Anyways - not too much more that is new for now. Jakob keeps growing and thriving! We are off to Memphis in 2 weeks for my mom's 60th birthday celebration with lots of family there....we can't wait!!!!
I found out that I may be in Houston from Sept 8 -12 for work, so hopefully will have time to see friends and family there at the same time. This will be my first trip without Jakob. When I return, my step-dad, Dennis, and Gretchen will be visiting us in September, so we are also looking forward to that.
I hope everyone in the U.S. is enjoying their summer and those in Oz are enjoying cooler weather.
Talk to you soon!

Auntie Jan and Uncle Paul xxxxx
Sorry about the amp on our title, have tried something to get rid of it,still new at all this.
Love Auntie Jan and Uncle Paul xxxxx.
Courtney, Wayne & Jakob,
I loved the Calgary Tower video and am impressed that Jakob doesn't seem to care how high he is or that it looks like he could fall right through the glass. When I was in the tower, I couldn't even muster getting on the glass - even hanging on like Courtney. Jakob - very impressive!!
The helicopter ride looked really fun and I'm sure Jakob was enjoying it (after he got over the shock). Now the mall helicopters won't seem so exciting.
He just seems like he is really enjoying life which is great and you and Wayne are obviously introducing him to anything and everything. Lucky kid!
I can't wait for your visit - won't be long.
Love you all,
Mom/Pam/Nana Pam
